Swami Vivekananda said, “There Is No Chance for the Welfare of the World Unless the Condition of Women Is Improved. It Is Not Possible for a Bird to Fly on Only One Wing.” Unfortunately torture on women has been a systematic affair in our society over the centuries just because of their biological sex. Such historical discrimination refutes the female individuals of their rights to equal resources and opportunities and creates a social disharmony. Chittaranjan College, being a co-ed college, has been continuously striving for gender equity for a long. We do believe that an inclusive development of the society becomes possible when both can work together in a congenial environment.
We have been fostering the women towards the spirit of autonomy and holistic development of personality. We also empower them with the leadership roles in various places and committees at Chittaranjan College. In order to inculcate an all-round gender sensitization among students, faculty members, staff members, we organize lectures, seminars, video tutorials, counselling, guest lectures. The college often arranges to display the growth of charismatic women in various spheres. The women are free to share their experiences (where they have not been the direct victims) of odds. We duly appreciate their suggestion and views. The women cell has constant endeavour with long strides to a safer and more equitable society.
