    1. Admission to the honours/General degree courses of studies is subjected to fulfillment of other condition as laid down in 2016 rule as per C.S.R.. Candidates who passed the H.S. (10+2) Examination or its equivalent examination in 2016 and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the above mentioned courses of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.

    2. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Hons. course, aggregate marks obtained at the prequalifying examination shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidates. However marks in the Compulsory Environmental Education/ Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate of marks, (if the subject ‘Environment Sciences’, studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks).

    3. Eligibility criteria for getting an admission form for

    A) B.COM. HONOURS

    i) Minimum 50% marks in aggregate & 45% marks in Accountancy or Mathemetics at the previous qualifying examination.
    Or
    55% marks in Accountancy or mathematics at the previous qualifying examination
    ii) B.Com General students will be admitted directly as C.U. Rule
    iii) SC & ST students will be admitted as per C.U. rules and reservation of seats will be maintained as per Govt. Regulations i.e. 22% seats will be reserved for SC and 6% for ST candidates.

    B) B.A. HONOURS:
    For B.A English (Honours) course of studies a candidate is required to choose his/her Honours and any two elective subjects from the following,
    HINDI, PHILOSOPHY, EDUCATION

    For B.A Bengali (Honours) course of studies a candidate is required to choose his/her Honours and any two elective subjects from the following,
    HISTORY, POLITICAL SCIENCE, PHILOSOPHY

    For B.A English Honours and Bengali Honours – A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination (as per CU rules)
    Or
    55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination Or
    50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.

    However candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled tribe community taking up Honours course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
    Candidates must have pass marks in English having full marks not less than 100 in(10+2) level of examination

    C) B.A. GENERAL:
    1. Student applying for General courses must make sure that they have secured pass marks in all the subjects in their previous examinations.
    2. Candidates must have pass marks in English having full marks not less than 100 in(10+2) level of examination
    3. Marks in compulsory Environmental Science shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks in (10+2)
    4. For aggregate marks best of 4 in 10+2 level will be considered
    5. For applying to B.A General course candidates must have pass marks in all subjects 10+2
    6. All Honours & B.A General students have to study AECC1 (any one subject from English/Bengali/Hindi/Urdu) in the first semester.
    7. AECC2 (COMPULSORY ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY) will be studied in semester 2 by both Honours and General
    8. General students have to choose any one combination.

    Combination1 – HISTORY (CC1), HINDI (CC2), PHILOSOPHY (GE)
    Combination2 – PHILOSOPHY (CC1), POLITICAL SCIENCE (CC2), EDUCATION (GE)
    Combination3 – HINDI (CC1), EDUCATION (CC2), POLITICAL SCIENCE (GE)
    Combination4 – HISTORY (CC1), POLITICAL SCIENCE (CC2), HINDI (GE)
    Combination5 – EDUCATION (CC1), PHILOSOPHY (CC2), HISTORY (GE)

    Student from WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE Boards will be admitted as per C.U. Rules provided they have relevant documents.
    OBC, SC & ST students will be admitted as per C.U. rules and reservation of seats will be maintained as per Govt. Regulations i.e. 22% seats will be reserved for SC and 6% for ST candidates.
